Next Step: Fill the room
Darndest is a marketplace (similar to Airbnb or Etsy). One of the main problems with marketplaces, is when you begin you start with an “empty room”.
If brands come to the platform hoping to purchase campaigns, but there are too few creators to work with, brands leave. If high quality creators sign up, but only a couple of brands are purchasing ads, then why would they stay on, let alone evangelize a platform that isn’t helping them succeed?
I believe the first step to solving the empty room problem is to solve it on an individual basis to start. This means building an MVP version of the app that can be plugged in and replace a brands existing campaign workflow to test out how the process works for them.
If we can do this multiple times and its value has been proven to both brands and creators, we build the public platform, and launch with a full party.
Technical Needs
Build out MVP that can replace a brands existing campaign workflow. (Can be build on top of Sharetribe for simplification)
Ability to keep “private” or “duplicatable” to keep MVP test circle tight.
Get feedback from initial use case of brands who test it.
